Give repeat work a schedule

Recurring invoices are useful for services that return on a regular basis, such as a monthly maintenance agreement. Start with the customer and the invoice details, then configure the recurrence in your workspace. Check the timing and the contents together: a schedule is only useful when it reflects the work you have agreed with the customer.

Choose the handling deliberately

Review the options available for the schedule and how generated invoices will be handled. Keep the distinction between preparing an invoice and delivering it clear. Delivery depends on the channels configured for your workspace; a saved schedule should not be treated as proof that a customer has received an invoice.

Pause when the agreement changes

Customer work can stop, change scope or move to a different billing routine. Review your recurring schedules when those changes happen and pause future runs when appropriate. Check the existing invoice records separately so that work already billed remains visible in its history.

Keep repeat billing alongside other invoices

Recurring invoices belong in the same billing workspace as your other customer records. Use the invoice list to check drafts and payment status, and open the relevant record when you need its details. You can continue creating individual invoices for one-off work without making Hercules a prerequisite.
